Welcome to our website. The Alberta Library Trustees’ Association is firmly committed to protecting your privacy online. The term “Alberta Library Trustees’ Association” or “ALTA” or “us” or “we” or “our” refers to Alberta Library Trustees’ Association, the owner of the website. Membership Accounts

In order to use some of the services provided through our website, such as trustee link, you must first sign up for a ALTA membership. When signing-up, we may collect personal information such as your name, address and contact information. We use this information to keep an updated list of our members so that we can send information out to active members, to determine if you have an existing account with us, and to contact you about opportunities and other programs provided by ALTA. You will also be asked to provide an email and a password when you sign-up for a membership.

Using Trustee Forum

Alberta Library Trustees’ Association provides online forums for a number of purposes which include, but are not limited to: connecting ALTA members; to answer questions and provide information about our programs; to update ALTA information; or to provide feedback about your ALTA experience. We may collect personal information such as your name, email address and other contact information. We use your personal information to provide the services or information you have requested, or to contact you with respect to your activity on the forums.

Alberta Library Trustees’ Association does not sell your personal information to any third party services. The personal information we collect about you through our website is used by ALTA for the purpose dispersing information, election ballots, memberships and trustee message board. You will only receive such communications if you chose to receive them when you signed up for a membership, requested further information from us, or otherwise asked to be contacted by Alberta Library Trustees’ Association.

If you do not wish to receive this information you may unsubscribe at the bottom of our communications such as electronic newsletters. If you have a membership, you may change your contact preferences in your account profile if you no longer wish to receive communications.

Alberta Library Trustees’ Association has implemented appropriate safeguards in order to protect the personal information you submit through our website.  For example, we use encryption and secure socket layer (SSL) technology to protect the personal information you submit through our website.

If you have a membership with Alberta Library Trustees’ Association, you may update your personal information, including your contact preferences, in your account profile.
