“Hello Everyone,
Premier Kenney has announced today that as of Sunday December 13th at 12:01am all public libraries must close to the public. This means that the last day in-person public library service can happen is Saturday December 12th. This closure will be in place for at least four weeks.
These measures are put in place to help curb the spread of Covid19. Here is a link with further information: https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx. Libraries are referenced under the “Entertainment and recreation facilities” tab.
We are seeking clarification on whether or not public libraries can continue to offer curbside delivery after December 13th. We will send out an email as soon as we know. We also encourage you to promote virtual content and virtual programming (and sent an email out on Monday with a Fact Sheet on doing so).
CURBSIDE PICKUP UPDATE:
In terms of having staff in the library building, the following restrictions apply:
· Effective Dec. 8, masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces and workplaces.
· Effective Dec. 13, working from home is mandatory when physical presence is not required
We will share more information in the coming days.
In the meantime, feel free to reach out with questions and/or for general support.
Thank you,
Diana Davidson Public Library Services Branch, Municipal Affairs”
